Since January 2009, the Milwaukee County Sheriffs’ Office has been using SCRAM® (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) as an integral part of its alcohol offender management program. It was one of the first – and currently among the largest – SCRAM programs in the country that is operated by a Sheriffs’ department.

Contra Costa County, CA

Contra Costa County, located in the San Francisco/Oakland area, is home to over 1 million residents and one of the largest Sheriff’s offices in the nation. Contra Costa also has the distinction of being the first Sheriff’s Office to leverage the dual continuous alcohol monitoring (CAM) and house arrest functionality of SCRAMx® (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) to take a firm stance on tackling its DUI problem. Since June 2010, the Sheriff’s Office has been using SCRAMx as a replacement for its previous use of BI’s TAD® and Sobrietor® products.
