Veterans Treatment Courts are a relatively new type of hybrid Drug/Mental health Court that employs the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (
NADCP) Specialty Court model in order to serve a growing population: U.S. Military Veterans struggling with addiction, physical and mental health challenges, homelessness, and unemployment. These courts are helping men and women in our local communities who are locked in a cycle of criminal behavior driven by their combat-related mental health and addiction disorders. Working in cooperation with Federal, state, and local veterans outreach programs, these unique courts are making our communities safer while restoring dignity to our Veterans on the home front.
SCRAMx for Veterans: A Helping Hand
SCRAMx for Veterans is a program that provides equipment and monitoring services to NADCP-designated Veterans Treatment Courts free of charge. AMS has created a grant, consisting of donated equipment and a block of no-cost monitoring days, for qualifying Veterans Treatment Courts. In addition, our AMS team donates their time to help work with each individual court to identify long-term funding and resources that can help make your alcohol management program self-sustaining.
