Departments of Corrections (DOCs) can use SCRAMx to help ease jail overcrowding, save tax dollars, and protect the public so alcohol offenders can safely transition back into the community.
Because it continuously monitors for alcohol consumption – and now can also track confinement to the home during specific hours of the day – SCRAMx is one of the most effective tools DOCs have to manage the alcohol offender outside of jail.
SCRAMx can help DOCs:
- Effectively and remotely monitor those offenders who are not a threat to the community when sober, and can be released under electronic supervision
- Provide a bridge to help offenders safely re-enter the community
- Support rehabilitation when coupled with appropriate treatment
- Allow the offenders to maintain family obligations, hold jobs, and contribute positively to the community while being monitored
- Save a significant amount of money, as it is much more cost effective than jail or prison

- Agency supervision strategies
- Non-compliance while on the SCRAMx device
- Compliance with more restrictive technologies
